Get Ready for Together in the Dark: An Online Exhibition
“Tippy Didn’t Know the World Wasn’t Ending” by Carolyn Greener
Are you an artist who will experience the total or near-total darkness of the eclipse on August 21 or do you know someone who will? We’d like to announce that the Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance and Nampa Art Collective in Idaho are planning a juried online exhibition of art reflecting on this rare celestial event. The call to artists will go out shortly after August 21. The exhibition will feature prizes for best of show and publicity and contact information for all selected artists, including artist statements. We mean for the exhibition to draw from artists all across the nation in the Path of the Totality.
If you are interested, we ask that you make the eclipse part of your life on August 21 and to think about how you would like to express your experience as art. We will then give you at least two months to create the art. The art can be 2D or 3D, but will need to be well photographed, as this will be an online exhibition.
If you would like to be on the distribution for further announcements, please fill out this form with your name and email address. We will announce the call to artists by email, the website treasurevalleyartistsalliance.org and on the Facebook pages for Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance and Nampa Art Collective.
This exhibition is a collaboration of non-profit organizations Nampa Art Collective and Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance and is made possible by the support of the Idaho Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
For more information, please email us at email@example.com. Please forward this announcement to any groups or individuals who might be interested.
